James Winter

I was born in England and moved to Canada when I was 3 1/2 years old. When I was nearly 6 years old I tried karate for the first time and loved it, I have been attending ever since.

I qualified for the Winter Games in Vernon in 2012 and have regularly competed around the Island and at the Provincial tournaments and have gained a lot of medals. In_2014 I made the selections for the BC team in kumite. I was part of the BC team at the National Tournament in Richmond at end oflanuary 2015. I hope to make the BC Team at the selections in the fall this year

I attend NDSS high school in the French Immersion program and really enjoy anything in sciences and math.

I have played many sports including soccer, rugby, basketball, baseball but I really enjoy karate the best. The dojo feels like part of my family and I really like the physical and mental challenges it brings as well as helping out the younger kids in the class.
